Principles of DIY Investing, Things to worry about, Jim Grant, Australian Economy, The Internet Research Agency, and more

In this week’s Overview, Alan starts with an essay written exclusively for TCI members by Peter Guy, an old friend who Alan call’s Australia’s Warren Buffett and others call the king of small cap investing. Alan has been trying to get Peter to write for and is delighted he has finally tapped something out.

In Alan’s own stuff this week, there’s a dive into the three key risks with the markets at the moment, a look into the current state of the Australian economy with a bit of help from Sally Auld of JP Morgan, sum up the reporting season, and discuss what Alan reckons are the huge and broad implications of the Mueller indictment of 13 Russians over interfering in the 2016 US election.

Also, Alan had lunch with Jim Grant of Grant’s Interest Rate Observer in Sydney and wrote down what he said for TCI members.
